How do you feel about bringing back the "groan button?"
I can't wait for their response....
I never had an issue with the groan button. But I am more of a rep user than the Thanks/Groan feature.
I have actually never heard a great reason as to why it was removed. I think its a pretty handy thing to have to be honest. So I would say Im Pro Groan.
I can understand why the staff took the groan button away, it caused an uproar amongst some Zoners who did not take kindly for their opinion being taken what could be deamed negative.
In life no one will agree with you all the time, that doesnt negate your opinion it just makes it a different opinion.
I would consult with the staff and see if it would be feasable to reinstate the groan button on an trial basis to see if the reasons it was removed originally are now resolved.
Supposedly it was a solution to the issue of people being more civil around here. Somehow it was decided that no more groan would make people nicer to each other... in fact I think that's the opposite answer. That just leads to more people leaving negs, which include words, which can be far more hurtful... and anonymous, where as the groans did no serious damage other than to let somebody know you didn't like their post, plus it included your name when you left it.Quote:

Personally I'm pretty indifferent on groan/thanks and rep really, I just don't think I necessarily agree with the reason I heard for the groan going away in the first place. Only the staff knows whether that plan worked or not however...Quote:

A girl in a bikini isn't really doing a whole lot for me. The negative rep is far more hurtful than a groan, plus you don't know who did it unless you donate. I think the Thanks/Groan option was easy to use, quick, and plain for the world to see. It's a shame some immature people took advantage of the feature for their own childish beliefs and it's a shame that some immature people took offense to it.
I'm not a candidate, but my opinion is that far too many people place far too much weight on message board reputation.

No, literally. You get fake reputation points for them. Plus, everyone can see who thanks you, which increases your fake rep.Quote:

You get rep points from thanks and groans?Quote:
