Guentzel to canes for bunting and picks
Re: NHL News and Notes Thread.
Vegas signs Hanifan to a long term deal. It was rumored that the Bruins *really* wanted him and was going to be one of their major targets this offseason
Re: NHL News and Notes Thread.
31 year old Ryan Johansen likely done with hockey

Huge bummer, that guy was a horse for Columbus and Nashville for a few years. I liked him as a possible depth C option for the Sabres

An interesting read about the Red Wings offseason. Depending on extensions, they're going to be in cap trouble. Since they are a team I expect Buffalo to compete with, it's worth a read in the lean off season months

Re: NHL News and Notes Thread.
The Jets talked Rick Bowness into retirement so they wouldn't have to fire him.
Jets coach Rick Bowness retires after 38 years in NHL
The Jets were the only team of the top 9 this season not to make it to round 2 of the play-offs. Watching Monahan, Toffoli, Ehlers, etc...

He missed multiple games with his wife's health issues and some with his own. not sure how true the first sentence is.
Now to try and find a coach that will come to Winnipeg. The fact they are where they are without being able to attract free agents/coaches is impressive. Playing with an arm tied behind your back is tough.
In the end it will probably be Scott Arniel because he is already in Winnipeg.
Re: NHL News and Notes Thread.
Sabres keep pick 11 in the lottery.
Re: NHL News and Notes Thread.
No changes in the draft order. The way it should be.
Re: NHL News and Notes Thread.
NHL has got to get its draft hype game in order. That was hillbilly as hell.

Berube's name being floated in NJ. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Jets swoop in and sign Berube out from under the Devils. But Arniel makes some sense too.

I highly expect that pick to be traded.
Unless there's a defenseman the Sabres feel like they can pick and add to the core.

I have heard Berube's name too. I think it was always the plan to have a succession with Arniel but hope they change the systems up a bit.

Tampa Bay brings back a very old and expensive Ryan McDonough.

He will definitely change the philosophy of the team. Whether he's able to do it in one year remains to be seen. I forsee some big changes with the roster this offseason, hopefully one includes a goalie that can stay healthy and doesn't choke under pressure.

I think the whole world feels Marner is going to be traded.
