Clapp is temporary. We need something permanent- like Chylamadia

So basically ... we've got the Clapp.

He's filling holes with stiffs.
It's not just Beane and the Bills....this is probably going to be the business model for the teams that are lucky enough to have a true franchise quarterback, who is past his rookie contract.
Sign guys to one year deals. If they pan out, extend them. If they don't, release them.
Then hope to strike gold in the draft.
It's the only way to stay under budget while trying to remain competitive.

Fixed.
Chlamydia is not permanent and can be cured. Think ICRockets. Herpes is permanent and stays around bothering you forever. Think shiva.

I don't diagree with you, but don't you think that is rather a sad state? Make a splash signing, like a Von Miller, who gets hurt and ties you down financially for subsequent seasons as you watch your star QB age in front of your eyes - wasting his talent.

It’s an equal playing field so it doesn’t really matter in the long run. Right now the Bills are at a competitive disadvantage due to Millers contract/injury but they’ll be out from under it soon while other top teams will have their own Millers to contend with.
My question is how long before the NFL switches to a soft cap with a luxury tax as they do in MLB and the NBA.
That’ll solve a lot of problems.

I think you've missed my point. Yes to what you said, but the limiting factor is having a QB the quality of Josh Allen. We are lucky to have him. We all love him. But it was 20+ years between him and Jim Kelly. I won't live through a repeat of that waiting period.
