Down 3-1 going into the 3rd. It’s over.
I mean, it was the best run this team has had in a long time and at least Levi got his feet wet. Still, just not quite enough.
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
Running into hot goalies a lot lately.
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
We're down to needing Montreal to beat NYI in regulation tomorrow or we're out. I can see it happening then the Sabres losing to CBJ with a playoff spot on the line.

Scratch that. If Pittsburgh beats Chicago tonight we're done.
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
Chicago with 2 quick goals. Can we live one more day?
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
It’s officially over. The record drought goes on.

Is it? We can't win a tiebreaker with NYI or PItt? Oh well.

Not officially but probably.

Yes, we can.
But we need a miracle ending.
If we win out and Pittsburgh and NYI both lose their last game, we end up one point ahead of Pitt and tied with NYI, but we would hold the tiebreaker because we would have one more win.
The problem?
Pitt plays Columbus and NYI play the Canadiens.
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
Seeing a lot of sources say the Sabres are eliminated so I'm not understanding something.
They are 4 points behind the NYI with 2 games left. The 2 teams above don't play each other. The Sabres would have more wins if they win both remaining games and the Isles lose. The Sabres are 2-1 vs the Isles this season. How do we not own the tiebreaker?

Wins in regulation is the tiebreaker. Not total wins.

Gotcha. But points count in OT losses. What a weird system.
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
But, there is some good news: the playoffs are Ovechkin- and Crosby-free.
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
The Islanders get into the play-offs on the back of Brock Nelson? WTF?
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
Would love to see Oloffson get to 30 and Thompson get to 50.
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
If that wasn't a distinct kicking motion by Giroux, then I can't imagine what would be.
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
Very encouraging the way Mittelstadt has played the last few weeks.
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
Craig Anderson goes off a winner. So classy by everyone. Great class by the Senators team. Awesome team photo with Samuelsson and Comrie coming out onto the ice. Great Buffalo sports moment.

And Anderson officially calls it a career.
Keep him in the organization in some way. Maybe make him a goalie coach.
