Sabres claim Tyson Jost off waivers
On Saturday, November 19, 2022, the Sabres claimed Tyson Jost off waivers from the Minnesota Wild. Jost listed as a center is 5' 11" and 24 years old. He practiced at right wing yesterday on the top line with Tage Thompson & Jeff Skinner. Andres Bjork sent down to Rochester to make room.

Can't hurt but I don't see this move as a difference maker.

Rather take a stab at a young former top 10 pick. That is a practice that should happen often.

There's a reason they are taken that high. He's a freebie with a ton of talent. Will the sabres unlock it? I'm not holding my breath, but better give him a shot over some 28 year old career minor leaguer

You never know. Buffalo stuck with Tage Thompson when it started looking like he was possibly destined for bottom six or even AHL status.
Clearly, they like his skill set. Getting cut can be a wake up call if a player has been coasting a bit.

The Sabres are #30 in the penalty kill. Coach Granato said today that he plans on using Jost's skill set to help improve the penalty-killing unit.

When given some ice time, he has played well. I see he's always out there for the penalty kill. Has speed and good puck skills.
