Why Carrington could have big year
According to PFF, Carrington averaged a pressure every 10 pass rushes last season, and his 7.8 Pass Rush Productivity figure tied for the 10th-highest mark of any DT. He also blocked four field goals last season to set a franchise mark and finished 2012 with the highest PFF grade by a special teamer.

Re: Why Carrington could have big year
Would be good, since Kyle Williams is obviously on the decline, and the Bills need a younger player to push Dareus.
Re: Why Carrington could have big year
I think he will B a stud in new defense, He is an athlete

Don't know if he's on the decline since he's had foot problems (bone spurs)
Re: Why Carrington could have big year
Well, if Carrington can get his hands up like he does on field goals occasionally, maybe the LB's and DB's could get some easy tipped pick-six's?

Re: Why Carrington could have big year
Carrington has been moved around too much, I hope this coaching staff can find the right position for him because he is a pretty good athlete. I believe he was originally drafted to be a 3-4 DE, then they made him a 3-4 OLB, then they switched to a 4-3 D and put him at both DT and DE. Hopefully they can find a settled position, switching positions all the time for a young guy really stunts their growth.
Re: Why Carrington could have big year
He could be a real good football player if he's good at football.
How's that for keen insight?

Bone spurs on both feet the last 2 years. Kyle said this is the best he has felt in a long time. I look for him to have a GOOD year.

Pettine said he wants to move all his players on defense around to confuse the other team. But he did say he is not going to waste a good pass rusher by dropping him in coverage very often.
Re: Why Carrington could have big year
Carrington is a tank. And he knows what to do along the line... GET YOUR FREAKING HANDS IN THE AIR. I've grown up for years listening to my dad scream at the TV and the field to "get their damn hands up." Look what JJ Watt does. If you can't reach the QB, you make sure he can't get the ball to the receiver. Rant over, Carrington should have a big role in this new defense.
Re: Why Carrington could have big year
There is where analytic and metrics get into trouble.
Re: Why Carrington could have big year
Did they check his Hand Use Effectiveness After Getting Hands Stepped On (HUEAGHSO) rating vs. his Hand Use Effectiveness After Not Getting Hands Stepped On (HUEANGHSO)rating metric?

Re: Why Carrington could have big year
It's funny to me how entities like PFF happen to find all these gems on one of the worst defenses in NFL history. This Bills defense was that bad last year, and the year before that, and so on. Carrington was a part of that no matter what his individual numbers may state. This Defense has a lot to prove before I start thinking this guy or that guy could be the answer. I don't think there is a single player that will make the difference. It will take improvement on a much broader scale than that. That's my opinion.
Re: Why Carrington could have big year
out of wood/byrd/Carrington , Carrington is the one guy I want to keep the most. he can potentially be very dominant as an inside pass rusher and is entering his prime.
