"Playas Club" News of the Los Angeles Playas
Coming off a playoff season the Playas have not been content with standing still, instead three major moves have been made.
First the Playas acquired WR Santana Moss from the Brewsers for CB\KR Terrence McGee.
" As much as we like Terrence and his contributions on special teams, we drafted Jerome Mathis and he will take over the KR duties, we felt we needed a young WR with game braking ability to go along our rookies and veteran Rid Smith."
Second move Playas acquire QB Jake Plummer for Lee Evans WR and a 2nd rd rookie pick.
" We needed a QB and when you have the oppurunity to get a player like Jake you have to give something up. Acquiring Moss was done knowing we where getting Jake. We feel we have upgraded our RB, WR and QB positions for the 2006 season especially for the type of offense we plan on running. We have apower RB with speed in Larry Johnson, A veteran QB who can get the ball downfield, a gamebreaking WR in Moss who can stretch the field and a possesion guy in the vet Rod Smith who can make the clutch reception. We are pleased with our moves."
Third move the Playas acquire CB Quinton Jammer from the Assasins for DT Ted Washington and RB TJ Duckett.
"We needed a CB to replace McGee, we traded some depth to acquire a need.
With our rookie Carlos Rogers and now Jammer we feel we have a solid young CB tandem for years to come."
The last major move for now is the anouncement that the league has approved the Playas to play in the L.A. Memorial Colisuem for the 2006 season.
"We are pleased to be home where we belong"
Re: "Playas Club" News of the Los Angeles Playas
There is a rumor from the Playas camp that their protected list is all set no big suprises on some of the players let go but reportedly there is a huge suprise on the RFA list.
The Playas have decided to tag Willis McGahee with the RFA designation. This comes as a shocking development considering the Playas have handed the starting job to Larry Johnson.
When Playa management was asked about this they said," We have no comment on any player movement at this time."
Our sources tell is that Willis and his agent are not happy because he wanted to hit the ope FA market. Stay tuned for more Playa news.

thats what Playa management said
Re: "Playas Club" News of the Los Angeles Playas
Good.
I'm just hoping that Julius Jones can have a great season. If he stays healthy, and if Lee Evans can help to get the passing game going, I think Julius can have an MVP type season for the Assassins. Remember, after the first 2 weeks (and before an injury that shelved him for 6 weeks), Jones was leading the league in rushing.

You have a good young team Rich. This year alot of my rookie class will be contributing
Re: "Playas Club" News of the Los Angeles Playas
You have some pretty solid rookies, don't you Patrick? I know you have Rogers (who I thought was the best corner in last year's draft).

Nice group you have there. Justin Tuck looks pretty good too, they just don't use him enough.
My guys are okay: Marion Barber filled in quite nicely for Julius Jones when he was out, Chris Canty has been impressive in spot duty on Dallas' DL, while DJ has been steady all year for KC's defense and Thomas Davis has been up and down in Carolina. He was key to their shutting down Michael Vick when they beat Atlanta though. Davis was shadowing him all day, and really limited Vick's effectiveness.
Re: "Playas Club" News of the Los Angeles Playas
Tuck has been good on special teams and good in spot duty its all luck anyways since we have no control anyway LOL
Re: "Playas Club" News of the Los Angeles Playas

Re: "Playas Club" News of the Los Angeles Playas
It’s a season of change in Los Angeles, starting with where the Playas play. It has been announced and approved that the Playas will play the 2006 BZFL season in Los Angeles. The city of Los Angeles is overjoyed with this development and season ticket orders have been through the roof, it looks like the Playas will average well over 90,000 in attendance this year.
When asked about the development the Playas owner said, “ Mo’ money, Mo’ money, Mo’ money, no just kidding, we are looking for great fan support and are planning a lot of fan friendly activities for our games. We will have a special designated section each game that will get “Halftime Lap Dances” from our cheerleaders, “The Dime Pieces”.
The Playas on the field look as if they have changed philosophy slightly with some bold offseason moves. They have announced new starters at QB,RB,WR and CB for the upcoming season. The coaching staff expects to be more of a running team and ball control offense with the promotion of Larry Johnson to starting RB. Jake Plummer is being asked to manage the offense with the occasional big play threat of Santana Moss.
On defense the Playas expect to be young, aggressive and ball hawking. With strong DE and young quick aggressive ball hawking LB’s the Playas plan on pressure on the QB to overcome a young but good secondary.
On special teams the Playas look strong with Neil Rackers leading the way and KR Jerome Mathis taking over the return game.
In a discussion with Playa management we where told that the offseason is still young and there could more changes in store. The Playas have become younger and appear more balanced and improved in the offseason so far, the big question is have they done enough to move to the next level??
