It tells me that he must have really sucked, because we are eating more in dead cap to release him then it would have cost to keep.

that, or hughes blatnick are just as good rushing the passer in otas... the byrd situation and hughes made him expendable. hughes was especially lighting it up though

The quality of his replacements is irrelevant. If someone took his job then he'd be quality depth or a 3rd down specialist. But this year he stood to make $4 Million. By cutting him, he counts for $4.5 million. We ate a penalty to make him go away.

In preseason, a player can be taken off pup at any time.

either way, they wouldn't have cut him if he was better than hughes, and cleary hes not. im telling you, outside the qb spot, he will be the biggest addition.

Wait a second - I thought Rodgers was the biggest addition?

lol, you got me there. but seriously, im excited about hughes. sometimes it takes pass rushers a couple years ( especially edge guys) and then they take off
Re: Bills Release Mark Anderson
I was saying as soon as the season ended that they needed to cut his worthless arse.
Re: Bills Release Mark Anderson
someone will pick him up.

The dead money is spread over 2 years, though. He has $1.5M in bonus allocation and $500K in guaranteed salary so they have $2M in dead money this year. His old cap number was $4M so they saved some room in 2013. He will count another $3M in dead money next year, though.
Re: Bills Release Mark Anderson
It's not just Hughes and Blatnick, but also Manny Lawson that makes Anderson expendable.

So? By cutting him we have another 2 million in cap room to add to our 18 million in cap room. There's no one to sign with that. And if we cut him next year, we'd have the exact same $3 million hit.
Re: Bills Release Mark Anderson
Oh well, we'll always have that pressure on Sanchez in game one last year to remember him fondly.
Re: Bills Release Mark Anderson
Mark Anderson sucked major *******. and to think I was excited about this signing last year.
