Jets to Pursue Lamar Jackson this Offseason
If this reporter actually got this from anyone in the Jets coaches or front office, can’t this be considered tampering?

On Sunday night, following the New York Jets‘ season-finale loss, NFL reporter Connor Hughes of The Athletic listed three veteran quarterback options that New York is considering pursuing in the 2023 offseason: Jimmy Garoppolo, Derek Carr, and… Lamar Jackson.

Meh. He might be just pulling something out of his ass to get attention, it's not like QB's going to the Jets have been subjects of speculation the entire last half of the season.
Even if it does come from a source from the team, it's kind of skirting the tampering rule unless there is more direct contact with the player or agent. Gamesmanship maybe, but technically not tampering, although admittedly there is a pretty big grey area.

I don't think it's likely but I'd be fine with it. Jackson plays a certain style, and I don't see it leading to a long career though it will be extremely pricey.

Agreed, the Ravens entire offense is built around an undersized QB, above average runner and a below average passer. It would be several years for a new time to build there offense around him, by then he’ll be too beat up.

Speculation. It wouldn't worry me.

This. Expressing interest isn’t tampering unless some actual direct contact is made.

Agree with this. Jackson wouldn’t work on the Jets.
Also, they will overpay him. Murray, Watson and I think one more got contracts after Allen and they all got more. Jackson will get more than Allen too, and he’s completely not worth it.

Might as well trade Garret Wilson if you sign Lamar.
Re: Jets to Pursue Lamar Jackson this Offseason
The Jets might as well sign Tom Brady to.

Wouldn't that be interesting.
If they could screw KC over I'm all for it.
