McDavid: ‘A dream come true’ to be a Maple Leaf
Quote:
The most highly touted hockey prospect since Sidney Crosby delivered music to the ears of Leafs Nation this weekend.
“That would be an absolute dream come true,” Connor McDovaid told Mike Zeisberger of the Toronto Sun when asked about the possibility of becoming a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs. “It’s pretty crazy to even think about.”
Quote:
I’m from Toronto. You have to be a Leafs fan,” McDavid said in the article. “So, of course, I was. Of course. My dad was a Leafs fan. Every Saturday night watchingHockey Night in Canada would be my favourite time.”
Quote:
So, playing in a place like that, it has its perks and it has its downfalls. But it’s one of the best places in the league.”

The Leafs currently hold a 6.5 per cent chance of landing the No. 1 overall selection of the 2015 NHL Draft, which McDavid will surely be.

That would also be a wet dream for the NHL front offices....Make it happen Bettman.
The biggest market in the NHL with the second coming of Jesus playing for them, Would be great for the entire NHL.
Canada needs to become relevant again..Bettman has 6.5% to work with...lol
Re: Poor Toronto Maple Leafs.
I could see the NHL screwing Buffalo and/or Vancouver to make this happen. Of course, the Leafs are two years behind the Sabres on the rebuild and probably won't be winners for 5 years or so. I guess he's young enough that he doesn't care.
Re: Poor Toronto Maple Leafs.
Nice try to start a controversy. You would be a good reporter and report only half the facts. He also went on to say whatever team he goes to will be his new favorite team.
Re: Poor Toronto Maple Leafs.
friday june 27 connor either hates the leafs or it gets the hose

How would the league screw Vancouver? They aren't in the lottery right now. Or do you mean the Oil?

My bad- I confused Edmonton with Vancouver. I don't pay much attention to the West because it has so little effect on the Sabres so I tend to make mistakes like that.
Re: Poor Toronto Maple Leafs.
I think the Leafs will end up 3rd last as both Carolina and Arizona are playing better than them over the past 2 months.
That would give them a 11.5% chance to get the 1st overall pick.
McDavid to the Leafs and Eichel to the Sabres would be great for hockey in this region. An excellent rivalry for years.
Re: Poor Toronto Maple Leafs.
4th last place currently with a 9.5% chance at McDavid.

Re: Poor Toronto Maple Leafs.
It looks like the worst the Leafs can do is end up in 4th last place.
Sabres are going to go on a double digit losing streak tank.
Oilers are playing about the same.
Coyotes have that big home and home with the Sabres.
Leafs have found their worst level.
Re: Poor Toronto Maple Leafs.
Big game tonight!
Who wants to lose it more?
Excellent rehearsal for the Sabres games against the Coyotes later this month.
Re: Poor Toronto Maple Leafs.
Rick J just said... put the kids to bed. This is ugly.
Re: Poor Toronto Maple Leafs.
It would be great to have a camera on Chronically Constipated Murray right now.
Watching him sweat with the Sabres with a lead in the 3rd period.
Re: Poor Toronto Maple Leafs.
Re: Poor Toronto Maple Leafs.
Gionta is just going through the motions out there.
Did you see him out there dragging his stick behind him?
On that last PK, he showed no effort to engage the puck carrier.
A previous goal, he picked up no one in the slot.
I guess he is leading by example when the goal is to lose.
Re: Poor Toronto Maple Leafs.
A loss is a win.... Or a win is a loss... I'd be ashamed if it weren't for the fact that I was born there.
