Just 10 days ago they had the 10-4 loss and now this. WTF?
They folded. Could you imagine a playoff series against Boston? No thanks.

When I move backwards on a shot, it's because I'm not confident of my twitch reflexes that day, or the guy can shoot 100 mph and I need to give myself another split second to react
Not when the shooter is 5' from him, perhaps if he's at the circle.
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
Brandon Biro and ALL the leading scorers in Rochester are SMALL. They need a big forward with skill. More like Tuch.
Greenway looks like a dud.
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
They can't win when Samuelsson and Tuch are both not on the ice.
Something wrong with Dahlin and Thompson. Skinner ineffective without a center that's hot.

Well if Jordan Greenway., with his 8 points, can fetch a 2nd and 5th round pick, Olofsson should fetch us 2 first round picks....
Obviously, I'm kidding.
Greenway shows me nothing that would suggest he can ever be a first line player, no matter how many times Granato tries him on the first line.
Not a good skater, not a hitter, not a finisher. Looks like we got fleeced by the wild. Maybe the 5th round pick, but a 2nd rounder too?!?! Nahh.

Ya know, I was high on Greenway. Had a good pedigree, and up till this season, was a solid NHL player
I'm willing to see how things shake out this off-season on him, but the early returns are.....not good

Agreed. Put him on the energy line and have him out there for PK to start with when he gets to Buffalo.

Which would be enough to “Kroogah” Skinner to the third line permanently never to play with Tage again.

Dahlin is playing hurt. He's not 100 percent

He says he's 100%.

His game does not appear that way. He looks off. Like he's fighting it. I think he's just trying to tough it out
What do I know though. I'm just a fan watching on TV.

Well you're certainly not alone in that opinion. I just posted what others concerned about just that (an injury) were told by the player when asked about it. Here, Paul Hamilton of WGR talks about Dahlin during the Bruin loss:
Quote:
Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin has said he’s not playing hurt, but he is also not an excuse maker.
From what I’m seeing, he has to be hurt. In these 11 games - nine of which he played - he reverted back to two seasons ago, where he struggled on almost a nightly basis. He has no goals and one assist, and is minus-13. He hasn’t scored a goal since Jan. 23, and in his last six games, he has no points and is minus-12.
I’m not going to sugar coat it, Dahlin was awful against the Bruins. Garnet Hathaway got one of the easiest goals of his life as he came with speed and blew right past Dahlin.
Kale Clague was too far away from his partner, so he offered no help, and the Sabres needed to get a save from Luukkonen and didn't.
Dahlin and Clague were both running around on Boston's third goal, vacating the middle of the ice. Victor Olofsson was just gliding back into the zone, and Jake DeBrusk had a layup.

When does Devin Levi play?

No, at that point, you have to attack the shooter. Your twitch reflexes are only going to be able to read the blade so well

Lance lysowski says Dahlin is nowhere near 100 percent. Tuch either. According to him on his podcast
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
What an implosion. May as well tank the rest of the season. They're used to that.
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
Coincidental that they tank suddenly, unexpectedly after the trade deadline? Were the players expecting Adams to bring in some veteran support? I've gotta say that Okposo has to go. He forked over the puck that led to that first goal. Should be embarrassing for him. He was done two or three seasons ago.

Okposo had a real nice year last year, but hasn't rounded back into form.
I agree he's about done, but he's also the heart and soul of that locker room. He's beloved. So I'd bring him back as an extra forward for that, or see if I can make him an associate coach
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
He's a liability. Everybody sees it.

Great news everybody! Look...
