Or "points percentage" not actual points (though it would add up the same at the end)
So basically, no credit for OT or shootout losses? I'd be ok with that. No other sport gives a team credit for OT losses. Back when there were still ties, it made sense to give both teams a point when there was no winner. I think hockey is kind of mired in the mentality that getting through regulation without losing is worth something.
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
I know the loser point was originally designed to open up the game in OT. Give both teams a point so teams take more chances in OT.
The old system was fine to me. I don't mind ties. I don't mind an OT loser getting nothing
If you do win percentage, do it this way: 100 p for regulation win. 67 for OT/SO win. 33 for OT/SO loss, 0 reg less
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
Fast start tonight. 2-0. Hold and add to a lead for once!
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
3-0 Don't let up! A win tonight and anything more on this road trip is icing on the cake.
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
The collapse is almost complete
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
Here we go again. The fact that they can not get this problem solved is concerning.
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
Go Sabres!
We need to cash in on this PP.

I wish they would play a full game but I'm happy with the win.

Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
At least hockey is interesting again. I’d be so happy if the Sabres steal the last playoff spot from the Caps.

This team needs a vet or two. If they can get a decent vet on D and a vet forward.... This is a dangerous team
Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread
FWIW the Sabres are currently 3rd in the WC race. They trail the Caps by just 3 points, but the Sabres also have 3 games in hand. The 1st WC is Pittsburgh, who only has 3 more points than the Sabres with the same number of games played.
The 3rd team in our div is TB. They currently have 9 more points with 1 game in hand, so catching them isn't going to happen.
But, the WC remains a possibility.

That's the same conclusion The Hockey News came to insofar as the trade deadline goes; they note: "If (Adams) chooses to add, it's wise not to expect any blockbusters. A third-line winger and a third-pairing defenseman are likely additions to the roster. And with a good number of wingers on the market, making a deal for one would not be difficult, particularly when you have some promising prospects in the AHL, not to mention 3 second round picks in the 2023 draft."
