A QB late in the draft.

What Do you guys think about drafting a QB, say the 4th or 5th round (Ken Dorsey- a proven winner i.e. tom brady) . I feel that a QB needs to be drafted and groomed under Bledsoe because Van Pelt is getting old and I don't think he could start for 99% of the league.

Not a bad idea, IMO. We could utilize him as either the 3rd QB if he's more effective than Brown or stick him on the practice squad if he's not. If we do give him the #3 job, give him enough #2 snaps in practice that he will learn the system.

    Welcome Fatwhite02!!!!!!!! :)

Not a bad idea... BUT, I want our Defense fixed before the front office focuses on a QB. If they can do both....

I am thinking that Dorsey will go either LATE 3rd or early 4th. Reason being, he's certainly not the #1 QB out there, but he IS from MIAMI and anybody from Miami in the past 5 years has been getting drafted and fairly early as well. Least of all a QB that only had 2 losses as a starter. While I don't think he will be star in the NFL, I think he could put up AVERAGE numbers if given an opportunity in a few years.

If he doesn't go by the end of round 3, he will go in the first 10 picks in round 4 because round 4 is DAY TWO of the draft and teams will REALIZE, hey the MIAMI QB that only had 2 losses is STILL OUT there, let's take a chance on him. Round 4 is good value for him, thing before mid 3rd is a REACH and after round 5 is a steal.

Depends on whho's available in the 4th rd and who we already got.

If a Colin Cole or a Dallas Clarke is available, I'd rather get a need. QB isn't a need.

On another board someone asked if we could upgrade our offensive line. The answer, of course, is that we could but it's the wrong place to be focussing time and energy. If a QB who should have been taken two rounds earlier falls to Buffalo in rounds 4 thru 7 Buffalo should consider taking him, but as Slick Willie said I'd rather fill a need all things being equal.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

Seneca Wallace if he slides down to 4 or 5?

    Banks from Iowa?

Would prefer to take someone with more arm strength than Dorsey.

St. Pierre is a scrub.... I saw him play the last 2 years and he showed me ABSOLUTELY nothing. I was always thinking, God, they must have NO BACKUP QB because Boston College played St. Pierre.

He will never amount to anything in the NFL and any team that wastes a draft pick on him is doing just that, wasting it. Stay away.

What about Jason Gesser from Washington State. The 2nd best Wazzu QB could be taught by the best Wazzu QB.

I would not do it- If you are looking for a quality backup- look to a cap casualty with starter's experience- Like Pittsburgh did last season with Charlie Batch. (For Vet min)

Bledsoe will be here at least 4-5 seasons- unless TD goes cap insane (which won't happen)

Use these picks for immediate help- DT's if they are available, LB's- (there should be some available) a nickle back- a TE, A safety, depth at WR or Guard- well before I'd consider a QB

6 picks...no immenent need at QB...the Bills will not take one in the draft.
