Maroney going 9th? That's a bit of a shocker, but a good pick nonetheless.

I guess that's why he wanted to trade down. I was looking at Maroney...with the #24.

Of the Rb's I had him rated the lowest, only because he is on that offense that is so diverse.

Yeah, I knew he would be met with some groans but there really isn't anything else out there that I really need that will help as fast as he will.

I mean I have Edge at RB but at 7.5 mil he is definitely expendable.
I need help at other positions but none of them were worth the money I was gonna pay a round 1 guy IMO.

If that's the guy you wanted and you couldn't trade down then that's great. At least all of the picks are the same price. If you reach for a player(unlike the NFL) that you could've had later at least you're not paying more money for him.

I should gets some grunts too. There is no market to trade down and I got the best guy available at a position I needed to address.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
              It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Yes, the offense might be diverse, but if and when he is the starter, he will get 20-30 carries a game and the Pats like to run the ball in the redzone and late in games.

With DeAngelo Williams, I know Foster is the starter and they still have Goings so that is a bit of a log jam.

With Addai, the Colts have plenty of backs that are going to be mixed in as well. Not to mention, Manning will be throwing the ball a lot more too.

You won't get any groans from me, Mangold is solid and will be for a long time for you. Nice Pick.

My only grunt is that's who I wanted with #24.

I couldnt take that risk. Even with the first pick in the 2nd round. He is by far the best center available, I figured someone would have the same need between now and then.

Here is how my trade with Canada worked out.

Brewsers traded 1. Reggie Bush and Greg Spires
Canadien Radiation Kings traded 1. Nick Mangold, Lenard Little and Al Wilson.

                        Remember, 22 comes before 24.

Good pick, Michael. I was definitely interested in taking Mangold in the 2nd w/ one of my 3 picks, but it looks like he wasn't going to last even if you took someone else in the first (since your pick is just before mine in the 2nd).

It just wasnt a risk I wanted to take. I figured most people would have him as a target in the late first early second. And with Jeff Faine as my starter, I needed an improvement...bad.
