ARGH! Mikey, you waited until the last second, and then picked my guy.

We're way past the 8th pick and no one has taken Donte yet. What's up with that?

I just non-bigoted up and was thrilled that he was still there. I was desperate for a QB.Originally Posted by Sabre Ally

I don't think he'd want to hold a clipboard for the Assassins. Our secondary is good to go w/ Dunta Robinson and Nathan Vasher @ the corners plus Bob Sanders and Sean Taylor @ safeties. Then again, Taylor might be in jail soon...Originally Posted by DrForbes
You can rest easy now, Forbes, Donte is gone.
Yeah baby! I can't wait!Originally Posted by Sabre Ally
Good pick Ally! It was either Vince Young or Donte Whitner for me.
Good. I'll deal w/ you then.Originally Posted by Sabre Ally
Someone wake Patrick up and let him know it's his time to pick. Now.
There's still quite a few good players left. I'm going shopping in Round 2!
I am psyched by some of the guys still around. My other choice for round one is still on the board!
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
Indeed. There's still plenty of good talent to draft. Since my team could muster only 3 wins last year, we can use all the talent we can find.
wel lconsidering there are only 20 teams there are always alot of good players all throughout the first 4 rounds or so, in another league I am in there ar e 28 teams so after the first round or so and considering the have a sliding rookie pay scale the rookie draft is much more a crap shoot
Size of the league definitely matters.......so does the talent pool of the draft. This year's draft has some positions where there's a good deal of talent, so it really helps us.Originally Posted by L.A. Playa
exactly. The cool thing is your drafting 2nd round talent in the 4th round. And like Rich, my winless team needs all the help we can get.
I am happy with Huff and Bunkley. That will fill two holes in the defense. I would really have preferred Hawk but beggers can't be choosers. Forbes got a good pick with Addai. I just didn't have the guts to take him in the top 10. Had we not pulled off the trade that would have been my selection at 18. Good job.
For all the education and practice each of us undergoes, the achievment of mastery is ultimately the outcome of a personal quest for understanding.
I dont know anything about Ernie Sims I figure he wil lstart in Detroit under their new defensive minded coach so I hope he is a good player.
Anyone know anything about him ???
