Redskins say they're not Interested in Price

This was part of an article in Pete Prisco's column on CBS Sportsline.
There was a bunch of speculation that the Redskins would make a strong push to get Bills receiver Peerless Price in free agency if the Bills didn't tag him. But word out of Washington is that Price isn't a player they will go after. They like him some, but with a receiver-heavy draft, the Redskins might be able to get a big-play guy and then sign a lower-priced veteran to go with Rod Gardner. The Falcons are still eyeing Price, although the price will have to be right. Price does make his home in Atlanta, which should help.

I guess the less people interested in Price the better for Buffalo IF they want to keep him but it could also hurt them if they were planning on tagging and trading him...

I think we will see this more an more as ***ency rolls along. High Priced (no pun intended) WR's need to earn it before they make the bucks, Price hasn't yet.

God forbid, but if Moulds went down last year, and Price still got his numbers, then yes, he would have earned it in my opnion

107.7 WNSA reported that Price's agent said that he would be interested in joining the Redskins if givin the opportunity. WNSA also stated that the Redskins were interested in picking up Kordell Stewart. Let's see, Kordell or Bledsoe? I think I would stick with the Bills. But as we all know, its all about the dead presidents!!

    I wouldn't touch Stewart w/ a 10' pole...
Replace Donahoe with Modrak and fire the entire coaching staff!

    Then let's go to Disneyworld!

    GO BILLS!!!

Nor would I Wys. I would love to see what PP's stats look like catching balls from Kordell. Maybe he should call Plexico and ask him how he liked playing with Kordell. Plexico's stats were off the charts once Kordell got benched! I can't remember the name of the other quarterback, was drafted by the Broncos/XFL star.

BTW, I wouldn't say that the topic of this thread is true. That's why national level media are next to worthless when it comes to stuff that isn't completely objective unlike this. Here's what the Wash. Post had yesterday's print edition:

"The club also will be looking for a wide receiver and a veteran backup quarterback in free agency. The representative for Peerless Price, the Buffalo Bills' standout wide receiver who is eligible for unrestricted free agency, has said that Price will consider signing with the Redskins if he's on the market. But it's not clear whether the Redskins would be willing to meet his price."

IMO Price will have a lot to prove this season, especially if he signs with another team. Like Pride said, if Moulds was hurt and Price stepped up and had the same numbers, than yeah, he "earned" it. But I think he's in for a rude awakining when he realizes he's being double teamed and can't make as many big plays. I'd like to keep him, but not for what he's asking. The D should be first priority.
