They weren't wearing "Well, now do you believe?" T-shirts, but you could almost bet that OLN, NBC, Channel 2 and NHL officials were almost as disappointed as some Buffalo fans after the Sabres lost, 4-2, to the Carolina Hurricanes in Game Seven of the Eastern Conference finals Thursday night. For one thing, the back-from-bankruptcy Sabres are a better national story than the Hurricanes. More important, the participation of Buffalo may have softened the blow of what will likely be historically low TV ratings for NBC's coverage of the Stanley Cup finals between Carolina and Edmonton. more

Re: Networks needed Sabres to raise ratings
I'm so GD sick and tired of ratings, and market share.
it's a shame that capitalism can dictate who is worthy and who isn't in life, but its even more shameful when a form of entertainment that truly needs to be equal to all, is not, just based upon its monetary value or contribution.
as the world continues to put more emphasis on money flow, things that we've grown to love, appreciate, and desire are being removed because they don't generate enough income for others.
slowly but surely, EVERYTHING will be judged by its abiltiy to generate coin or its ability to not tax the system. Sports economics IMO is the example by which our own society is heading.

What did Mango Salsa Brindamour say about Ruff??“You hold a players only meeting and get each guy to stand up and say what he can bring to the table... and if he doesn't, you punch him in the face.” ~~ Harry Neale, on how to fix the Sabres season.
