If anyone doesn't think the NHL can succeed in the South, the 'Caniacs prove you wrong. .

What a crock of ****. Carolina has no fans.

“You hold a players only meeting and get each guy to stand up and say what he can bring to the table... and if he doesn't, you punch him in the face.” ~~ Harry Neale, on how to fix the Sabres season.
They are strictly fans right now because the team is winning and is 3 games away from the Cup. I can promise you that if they slip next year and don't make the playoffs, the Caniacs won't be anywhere in sight.
You've got the Stanley Cup mounted in the bed of your Ford F150.
Wtf? I guess people dont drive trucks up here
Cheers!
Lol PcA I know right?
yeah, that will happen!!Originally Posted by RockStar36

The only thing that happend remotely close to canes fan support was when someguy told his son to give us thumbs down when we arrived in raliegh. That was it.
Oh, and when we were in virginia.. some lady came up to us..about mid 40's and said "Did we win?" I was like..uhh the game doesnt start until tonight. Then shes responded "Oh I had no idea, and I actually live in Raleigh (laughs)" ...we laughed too and then she said "Yeah, not many of us follow hockey too much there". I laughed again..
..Go figure huh, that was my idea of someone from Carolina? Because a female usher even told be to show my banner after the 2nd INNING.
Get real.
and maybe get REAL fans.
You're full of crap. End of story.Originally Posted by JD SabreFan
if they couldn't sell out those tickets for game 1 and 2 within the hour then Carolina has piss poor fans.
I think these articles trying to pimp Carolina hockey is just marketing drivel by the NHL trying to get itself some postive rep and fan support in the south. Its been more then obvious that Carolina doesn't have enough real hockey fans.
That's like calling Toronto the heart of NASCAR

Luck or not, we are still there, and there is always going to be people complaining, im not worried at all, hockey is up and coming here and i am not disputing the fact that Buffalo is a huge hockey town, and that is a great tradition to have, Raleigh has a long way to go to achieve dominant hockey status, but to be in the finals twice in 4 years is a good start!!
The funniest part of all this is that you morons think I'm joking.
I'm assuming you didnt see the TSN article on your so-called "Caniacs".
Articles or not, we just won 5-0 to go up 2-0 in the series, they can write all the columns they want on the Canes!!! We are sitting back and laughing!!Originally Posted by JD SabreFan
Just to be clear. The Carolina Hurricanes won 5-0 tonight. Don't say 'we'. You are not part of that team. They won 5-0 tonight.
And I don't think the point of this thread is to rip the Canes as much as rip the fans. Carolina is not a hockey town and I don't think it even will be. I mean....those games for the Cup should sell out within 30 minutes. Reminds me of TB a few years back. Another non-hockey city winning the cup. The NHL needs to cut a few teams out of the league.
If Buffalo won, you would be saying "we" as well!! LOL!!!Originally Posted by RockStar36

I suppose I'll have to remember this for next year.Originally Posted by BleedinGreenNC
And what a great hockey town. The town that struggles to sell out the first 2 games of the Stanley Cup. Dude, give me a break. The majority of NC is more interested in the Nascar points race than the Stanley Cup. Hop on the wagon.Originally Posted by BleedinGreenNC
I disagree with this. When I talk about the Sabres, I use 'we' all the time. I am emotional invested in the Sabres for my whole life.Originally Posted by RockStar36
