Bills clamp down on Dolphins 16-6

Culpepper completed 23 of 32 passes for 250 yards. Ronnie Brown had 70 yards on 15 carries and added a team-best six catches for 52 yards for Miami, which narrowly avoided enduring the sixth home shutout in franchise history when Culpepper hit Chris Chambers with a 23-yard TD pass with 1:54 left.

Still, the Dolphins are 0-2 for the sixth time. None of the previous five teams finished better than 6-10.

Those numbers really don't look like the kind that come from near shut-outs. This defense slightly resembles the Wade Phillips/Ted Cottrell "bend but don't break" defense.

They did play prevent defense once they made it a two score game. None of the players were part of the great Bills-Miami rivalary so they did not make a big deal of a shutout.
