    Numminen has a broken toe

    Teppo Numminen’s injury has been revealed by x-rays to be a broken toe. He is now classified as day-to-day and will not be in the lineup for the Sabres Saturday night in Montreal. Numminen injured his foot blocking a shot in Buffalo’s 3-1 loss to the Florida Panthers last Thrusday night.

    As a result the Sabres have called up defenseman Andrej Sekera to see his first action this season. Dan Paille has been sent back to Rochester to make room on the roster. Andrew Peters is in the lineup for the Sabres as well.

    Calling up a different defenseman everytime must have something to do with the salary cap.

      Sekera was teh #8 guy initially, but has been injured. The first time they called a guy up, Funk was hurt too so Card got the call.

      When Sekera came back, Regier went and watched one game and Funk outplayed Sekera, hence he got a chance.
