    2006 Rookie Draft

    1.10 Nick Mangold C Ohio
    2.1 Jimmy Williams CB VT

    3.1 D'Qwell Jackson ILB Maryland
3.16 Greg Jennings WR W. Mich
    7.1 Owen Daniels TE Wisc
    8.1 Willie Andrews CB Baylor

Nick Mangold has proven he is a first class talent, in his first season with New York he has started all 13 games and filled the enormous void left by 6 time pro bowler Kevin Mawea. Mangold may already be on his way to Hawaii this season.

Jimmy Williams has been playing the dimeback position in Atlanta sitting 4th on the teams depth chart. He is not sitting behind a copious amount of talent either, as Omar Rowe a 5th rounder in 2002 is seeing significantly more playing time.

D'Qwell Jackson has been a tackling machine for Romeo Crennel at OLB, so far this year he has compiled 93 tackles 6th among rookies. And has started all 13 games.

In 12 games this year Greg Jennings is quickly becoming a favorite deep threat for Brett Favre. Favre and Jennings have hooked up 43 times twice over 40 yards for a a pair of TDs.

You gotta love Owen Daniels this 7th rounder has to be the best value pick of our draft. In 13 games this year Daniels has racked up 33 catches and 5 TDs. He has become David Carrs go to guy as his 5TDs equal 50% of Carrs total.

Willie Andrews plays an insignificant part in New Englands delapitated secondary. Thankfully since New Englands goes through DB's like Paris Hilton goes through VD he will see playing time somewhere down the road.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
    It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

    Re: 2006 Rookie Draft

No one worth mentioning apart Demeco Ryans, hes had a great year and is a Rookie of the year canidate.

Chris Chester has made a few appearances at C for the Ravens, and Jonathan Scott has played in 10 games at OT for the Lions.

I knew both would be projects going in so im not to worried.

I'm pretty happy with Maurice Drew-Jones in the 5th round. I'm expecting him to be a Screaming Viking for quite some time...
"'Clean up your room.', 'Stand up straight.', 'Pick up your feet.', 'Take it like a man.', 'Be nice to your sister.', 'Don't mix beer and wine, ever.'. Oh yeah, 'Don't drive on the railroad track.'"

"Eh, Phil. That's one I happen to agree with."
