Steelers expect Cowher to quit

Steelers management has compiled a list of head coaching candidates when, as they expect, Bill Cowher steps down after he concludes his 15th season on the job in Cincinnati today.

Although Mr. Cowher, 49, said last Tuesday that it would not be long before he makes an announcement clearing up his plans, no press conference is scheduled and none may occur this week in Pittsburgh, at least not with Mr. Cowher present.

While it would be nice, dont get your hopes up. First of all, as ICE will tell you, Ralph will never pony of the kind of money it would take to get Cowher and Buffalo is ever further away from NC where his family lives now.

Seriously, I would be as well if that happened.

Our only hope is that he takes off for 1-2 years to give Ralph enough time to see how much Dick sucks and then hire Cowher out of retirement.

actually, those of us without a serious personal hatred for the guy hope that Jauron has delivered us a Lombardi Trophy in the next few years

He might retire for a couple of years but don't expect it to last. A guy like Cowher is a competitor with coaching in his blood. You know teams are gonna start calling him as vacancies arise and he's not going to be able to resist for long.
