Interesting note about this Bills team's discipline

We hate to see penalties, and this team actually had quite few:

Despite the fact that the Bills had one of the younger rosters in the league, and were instituting new offensive and defensive systems Buffalo did not commit many unforced errors. In fact Buffalo didn't draw many yellow flags at all. Over the 16 game the Bills were called for the fewest penalties in team history committing just 87 infractions. The old record was 89 set in 1995. In addition the team also set the record for fewest penalty yards with 629. That was one yard better than their previous best in a 16-game season (630 in 1993).

I don't know the numbers, but it seemed especially that way after the bye week.
"'Clean up your room.', 'Stand up straight.', 'Pick up your feet.', 'Take it like a man.', 'Be nice to your sister.', 'Don't mix beer and wine, ever.'. Oh yeah, 'Don't drive on the railroad track.'"

"Eh, Phil. That's one I happen to agree with."

It seems with the change on the OL during the bye it really turned this team around. We seem to be getting a little more respect from the refs too, even though they don't call obvious pass interferences against the opposing teams when they happen.

I see the low penalties as annother feather in the coaching staff's cap. Nice work. It's been a long time since we were a low-penalty team.
Wake up, brush your teeth, and get ready for a day of hating the Dolphins. Or the Pats? How to choose?

There were 2 weeks in a row there when we had 3 penalties each week

My thoughts were the penalties were killing us before the bye. Of course the only game I watched was against the bears, and it seemed every other play was a flag on the Bills.
