NHL Power rankings thread- Week of Jan 8th

    Updated January 8th CREDIT: TSN

    30-9-3
It's not the worst time for the Sabres to stumble a bit, losing two of three, because there aren't any other viable contenders for top spot right now. The Sabres have been getting added production from grinder Paul Gaustad, who has put up four points in the last four games.
Key Injuries: C Tim Connolly (concussion).

1 (1)Sabres30-9-3We're not ready to give up on the Sabres just yet, despite their poor showings against Ottawa and Pittsburgh. A sobering thought for Sabres fans: Buffalo is atop the East but is a lukewarm 8-6-1 vs. Northeast opponents.

Sabres1-1/3Despite splitting the four games they played last week, the Sabres were able to hang onto to the No. 1 ranking. In Week 14, the team lost two games in a row for only the second time this season.
