Alan Branch?
He looks like a Mcfarland/Sapp type DT to me. Thoughts?

meh.
you know, to be honest, none of the DT's, thus far, from what i've seen have stood out overmuch.
when guys like henderson or harris came out, it was clear in college they were can't miss guys. even then henderson took a few years, and harris, while he got some good pressure his rookie year, was largely ineffective vs the run...
but then you know i dislike drafting DTs... with few exceptions (i would have loved it had the bills drafted either john henderson or tommy harris), i was cackling with laughter when the jets traded up a few years ago to pick up Dewayne Robertson. Give him another few years and he might be a solid run stuffer, but he was never worth what the jets gave up for him.
My wife told me that if I had a dollar for every girl who found me unattractive, girls would find me VERY attractive.
MY WIFE SAID THAT!!!
So how do we solve the hole at DT? Wait for McCargo to develop? Sign Ian Scott from da Bears?
i think we're mostly stuck... with what we can dig up in FA.
I followed Harris a lot at OU, I would have loved for him to have been a Bill.
Branch im on the fence about. Part of me thinks he has the potential to be a beast at the pro level.
Im not sure what to make of this years DT crop.
Interesting take on DTs. I just hope we get a fat bastard in here before camp starts.

Well surely there are some DT's who defy expectations and do well. I don't think the Bills need a sack-meister at DT, but rather a run-stopper.

Ian Scott needs to be signed on day 1 of free agency by the Bills.
The only thing giving that fleeting notion a glimpse of hope, is Dick Juaron. If Scott doesn't resign with the Bears that is.Originally Posted by Mikey82
And he's versatile. Adelius Thomas was their pass rushing OLB. Makes sense that he had 11 sacks this year....Thank you Ngata.Originally Posted by Ingtar33

If Branch falls to Buffalo then we needa take him. I'm not sure if you guys watched much of Michigan this past year, but I sure as hell did and Branch constantly collapsed the pocket and pushed it backwards.. For what my opinion is worth, I will go out on a limb and say that Branch is going to out perform any DT taken in this years draft, as well as last years draft, combined. As far as potential and value as to where you can get a stud DT at my list goes: 1.) Branch, 2.) Thomas, 3.) Pitcock, 4.) Okoye. I just find it funny how it takes DT's so long to develop but people want to draft Amobi Okoye right away even though he is probably one of the most under developed DT's in the draft and will take even longer for him to peak. I'm not saying he will never be good, but he wont be good for Buffalo right away.
You talk about it taking time for DT's to develop yet in the McCargo thread you say McCargo is showing classic signs of being a bust after only one season. Which is it?Originally Posted by BuffaloFever
If he's going to be a stud it will take two more years.Originally Posted by Tatonka
