Some sketchy details of offer sheet for Spikes...

According to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com:

    1) More guaranteed money than Keith Brooking's $11.2M

    2) More in 1st 3 years than Brooking's $17.4M

    3) Early signs are that Cincy will not match the offer

I bet it's 5 mil base salary with the rumored 8 mil signing bonus. That would put it around 18 mil guaranteed money for the first three years.

          FYI...

Brooking received a $10.6M SB and averaged 5.8M over the first 3 years of the deal. He averaged $5.62 over the first 5 years of the deal.

          Brookings cap numbers are:

          2003 - $2,114,285
          2004 - $4,264,285
          2005 - $4,964,285
          2006 - $6,664,285
          2007 - $7,264,265
          2008 - $7,264,265
          2009 (Voidable) - $8,364,290

BTW, doesn't Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com do the best job, by far, of running their team site? The guy provides more useful info than all the other team sites combined, and does it in a more timely manner than any news outlet.

The Bengals may suck, but they have a great web page.

Well hell....I have no idea then. One thing I trust TD about, is not making up a contract that will kill us (ala John Butler).

I don't know. The Bills seem to have a "go for it" mentality this year. I think Ralph Wilson is feeling a little older and wants to win the big game before he moves on (sorry if that sounds disrespectful, but I didn't know how to put it more tastefully).

The Bills will pay out the big bonuses. They paid a crapload of money to Mike Williams, between signing bonus, option/buyout bonuses and escalators.

I have no problems with doing what it takes to get him in here.

He is a big piece of the puzzle. Getting a player like Posey now makes all kinds of sense.

No way Cincy is gonna match this offer. No way. Sew up a new #51 Jersey were gonna need it.

At least they can. Obviously any moves this year will impact future cap years, but 2004 looks to have very little "dead cap" and TD isn't giving huge deals to thirtysomethings like John Butler did.

                        Hmmm,
                        I earlier predicted a

                        6years - 24mil and a 10mil signing bonus
                        6year/34mil total

Looks like I’m a bit prescient doesn't it?
My wife told me that if I had a dollar for every girl who found me unattractive, girls would find me VERY attractive.

                        MY WIFE SAID THAT!!!

On another thread, I predicted 7 yrs-$40 million with $7 million signing bonus and $13.1 million guaranteed in first 2 yrs and a total of about $17 million first 3 years :)
