BREAKING NEWS - Biron Traded To Philly, Conklin Aq From CBJ

    Edited By SkateZilla

    http://www.wgr550.com/sabres/fullstory.php?id=2204
(WGR 550) - The Buffalo Sabres have sent goaltender Martin Biron to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for an undisclosed pick, and sent a fifth-round pick to the Columbus Blue Jackets for netminder Ty Conklin.

Biron was 12-4-1 for Buffalo in 2006-07, posting a 3.04 goals against average. His hit to the salary cap is $2.2 million, as opposed to Conklin's, whose hit is $525,000.

Conklin was 2-3-2 with a 3.23 goals against average this season, but played for the Western Conference champion Edmonton Oilers in 2005-06. For his career, Conklin is 29-22-4-3, with a 2.60 goals against average and .901 save percentage.

The move frees up $1.675 million.

I think it was WGR who was saying a rumor was Biron to Philly for Joni Pitkanen but I don't know how solid that was....

I love WGR. TSN reports it with no information. That's why we're local.

    SHUT UP.

If it is Pitakanen, he makes two million.

The Sabres have to sign or trade for a back-up or it is all over.

TSN is going on and on about how if Marty goes, the Sabres need a veteran backup. Can't agree more.

They would still have Goose's money. Joseph, Belfour or Boucher.

    Who knows?

Everything right now is a rumor. It's like mass confusion right now. WGR doesn't really know much and I'm rotating between the different sites looking for something.

Boucher is fine for a backup. Cheap and somewhat reliable for a game or two.

They have Morrison who has some expierence. Don't be shocked if they have claimed Boucher, or Leighton as well.
