    Media guide banter.

The schedule comes out on Thursday and it got me thinking.

I didn’t remember playing the Redskins in Washington since a meaningless week 17 game back in 1990. A game we lost 29-14. I think Gale Gilbert saw significant playing time in that contest.

Anyway, it turns out that we did play in Washington since 1990. It was a 34-17 win in 1999 with Flutie at QB. Why is it that for the life of me, I can’t remember that game? I remember almost every game.

Had I been right (and I still think that this game was never actually played), the last meaningful game in Washington took place in 1984. We lost that one 41-14. Actually we only won 2 games that year, so it’s not really a surprise.

The Bills have only played in Washington 4 times in their history. 4 games in 46 years! Their record in Washington is 2-2.

The Bills have won 4 straight vs. Washington. The last loss vs. Washington took place in Minnesota! It was a Superbowl. Thanks Washington.

Hey, at least they haven’t beat us in 15 years!

The 4 game winning streak over Washington is the second longest current streak, tied with Arizona. The Bills have beat Cincinnati 8 games in a row! Last loss to Cincinnati was in the 1988 AFC Championship game. It’s the curse of Icky Woods, Cincinnati will never be allowed to beat the Bills again.

Back to the NFC East, and Dallas, the only team in the division with which the Bills have a losing all time record. The Bills have only 3 wins ever over the Cowboys.

The last four REGULAR season meetings between the teams had the following barn-burning outcomes, 14-3 in 1984 (Greg Bell 80’some yards on the first play anyone), 13-10, 10-7, 10-6. WOW! At least the Bills were 3-1 in those games. Of course, in that span the Bills lost a couple other games vs. Dallas. Thanks Dallas!

This year will be only the fourth Cowboy visit to Buffalo. The Bills are 2-1 in those games.

The Bills and Cowboys are 3-3 since 1982.

In regular season games since 1978, the Bills are 6-1 vs. the New York Giants. There was another loss, in 1990 I think. Thanks Giants!

The Bills have a very symmetrical history with the Eagles, with a 5-5 record. The first match up going to Buffalo, The next 4 to the Eagles, the next 4 going back to Buffalo and the last to Philly. It’s a shame they’ll have to break that up this year.

Hey, and the Eagles never beat us in the Superbowl. That’s worth something.
    Resign our own guys!
