    Charlie Frye traded to Seattle

    Full Article:
Browns starting quarterback Charlie Frye was traded to Seattle for a sixth-round draft pick on Tuesday.

Just one game into the season, the Cleveland Browns will make a change at quarterback, as the team on Tuesday afternoon dealt third-year veteran Charlie Frye, who started Sunday's regular-season opener but was benched early in the game, to the Seattle Seahawks.
    Frye

It is believed that the Browns, who spent much of Monday seeking a trade partner for Frye, received a draft choice in return. There is no word yet on who will start for Cleveland in next Sunday's home game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The departure of Frye could pave the way for the Browns to turn the starting job over to first-round draft pick Brady Quinn of Notre Dame, but general manager Phil Savage on Monday cautioned that it might be too early for the former Notre Dame star to be elevated to that status.
I can't really imagine Quinn not starting... if he doesn't this week, it really won't be long before he does.

If I'm a Browns fan I would be pissed if Quinn wasn't starting. He was a first round draft choice and was most likely chosen to be a franchise QB. They don't have a playoff team this year so Quinn might as well take his lumps now.

The Browns organization is a mess. From top to bottom.

I'm sure my hatred toward Quinn is well known around here, but considering the fact that Frye is now gone, he wasn't good...DA sucks...And Dorsey is a journeyman with a brain but little arm.

I want Dorsey to start the rest of the year so Quinn can learn from him.

If this organization starts Quinn this weekend or next, it's a sign that they're throwing their hands up in the air and saying "We must play Quinn to save our asses" or at least try to.

I have to root for Quinn now, because, he's about the only hope the Browns have but if this organization puts him on the field now, they're going to destroy his career. And I won't root/follow them if they do put Brady on the field until RAC and his whole joke of a coaching staff is gone.

The plan was to bring Quinn along slowly....the plan was that Charlie was the guy....Apparently Eph the plan, we need to save our asses is now where they are.

At least they took a good solid quarter and a half to test that plan out...

Why does Seattle need him? Dont they still have Seneca?
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
            It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I heard Seattle wanted him so they could make Seneca back into a multi-purpose weapon in the offense.

Let me flip a coin to come up with an answer to if that was a good idea or not.

Apparently deciding QBs by flipping coins is the norm for Browns management, so from now on, whenever I have an important or non-important decision to make in life, I'm going to flip a coin to decide what I should do.

                  For a draft pick..

As you can see, when you have a quality QB (Quinn) waiting in the wings, it doesn’t take long for an aggressive to GM to find a way to get him on the field.

Frye had even less time than JP’s had, but apparently Savage and Crennel had seen enough.

I guess we disagree but what would it hurt to throw Quinn in now? I don't think Anderson or Dorsey will do much so what would it hurt. Give him some experience. I know some QB's benefit from sitting the first year but some also need the game experience. I just don't see what it would hurt. If you're going to lose, might as well get the guy ready for the NFL.

                          Here's why Rockstar....

Really Awful Crap aka Romeo A Crennel is an ABSOLUTELY horrid head coach. From gameplanning, to adjustments, to getting players up for games, etc. The O-coordinator is absolutely brutal in his play calls.

Putting Quinn out there with an absolutely flawed system due to stupidity in the coaching positions is setting him up for failure. Much like Couch failed in 99 due to some of the same circumstances. You can't succeed when the plan is flawed.

The only reason Quinn would be put in now is to watch him sputter and then the management and staff can say "well we played a rookie, of course, we were gonna struggle." Especially when the plan all along was to come along slowly with Quinn.

Mike Pagel was quoted as saying that he learned MUCH more sitting on the bench and observing than he did when thrown into the game.

BTW....Derek Anderson just got named starter in a press conference by Phil Savage with Brady Quinn the 2 and Dorsey the 3.

Anderson looked as bad as Frye on sunday...I'm completely pissed at this organzation right now. I figured they traded Frye because he had more value than DA and that they signed Dorsey to come in and play, so Brady would have someone who had a brain that worked to learn from.

Cleveland also has a brutal start to their schedule.

They'll use Anderson for the first few tough games then go to Quinn.
