And The Answer couldn't agree more!

With quarterbacks falling by the wayside and backups taking over all across the NFL, the team with the least reason to worry is Minnesota.

For one thing, running back Adrian Peterson is the key to that offense. Defenses want to load up the line of scrimmage with defenders to stop Peterson and make the quarterback beat them with his mind -- and arm.

Starting quarterback Tarvaris Jackson hasn't been consistent enough to strike fear in any defense for anything other than his ability to make plays with his legs. And he wouldn't strike fear in the Eagles' defense -- even one that has been struggling -- if he were to play this Sunday. But that is unlikely because he has a broken finger, meaning veteran Kelly Holcomb likely will get the nod.
Holcomb actually gives the Vikings a better chance to win.............

As someone who thinks that Edwards should get the nod over JP, it pains me to see your righteousness of how Edwards is the guy and then see you post this about holcomb.

Trapezeus disagrees with the Theoretical Answer.

Isn't ironic that midway through the 2007 season Losman has been benched for good in Buffalo and The Holcomb is about to take over the starting job for the season (and possibly beyond) in Minny?

Who would have thought - once again The Answer was right!

Yes, this should be in the NFL forum.

And how bad has Jackson looked that they have to go with Holcomb?

umm...if the third person was right, wouldn't Holcomb be the #2 guy or starting in Philly right now?

Reid is a shrewd coach - he's not going to come right out and say Holcomb is the back-up and hand it to him.

The Answer has no doubts that Holcomb will beat out Feeley easily in training camp - even push McNabb for the starting job if he's not healthy.

I can't believe I am responding to this douchebag post.

You do know that Holcomb was benched after the 1 game he started and lost, right? 1 TD and 1 INT and 1 Fumble lost = AWESOME to the third party troglodyte I guess.

It is certainly arguable that Holcomb is better than T. Jackson. I wouldn't push it any further than that, Answer.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

i'm sure philly would go the holcomb route when they have their QB of the future ready to go.

    Your holcomb obsession is puzzling.

Re: Article: Holcomb gives Vikes best chance to win

    1. Making Adrian Peterson play without the benefit of a semi-professional quarterback is absolutely criminal.

Vikings coach Brad Childress is justifiably taking heat for failing to give the ball to the best rookie running back since L.T. entered the league. In Minnesota's loss to the Cowboys, the Vikings' only weapon carried the ball just 12 times.

But more troubling than the way the Vikings use Peterson is the fact that they send him out on the field with zero threat of a passing game. Peterson is destroying NFL defenses despite the fact safeties do not have to fear the pass. The Vikings should call my boy Jeff George pronto.

Dude, there's no point in trying to argue with someone who is defending Holcomb.

Holcomb starting over Jackson is like Cleo Lemon starting over Trent Green.

    lose/lose.

Re: Article: Holcomb gives Vikes best chance to win

As long as there are young, physically-gifted, under-achieving young QB's being pushed into starting line-ups in this league, there will be a place for the Kelly Holcomb's of the sport to play.

Kind of ironic, isn't it? Both JP and Holcomb are in a similar situation to where they were two years ago.
