    With the Hargrove suspension...

... We are forced to look at DE's in the draft.

I see only 2 possibillities due to size vs speed.

    DE Calais Campbell
    DE Phillip Merling

In my opinion, others are either too slow or too small.

But... I wouldn't be opposed to DE Chris Harrington or DE Tommy Blake in rounds 5 or 6.

    Here's my latest mock...

    1- DE Calais Campbell
    2- TE Fred Davis
    3a- WR Adarius Bowman
    3b- CB Charles Godfrey
    4- DT Frank Okam
    5a- DE Chris Harrington
    5b- C Jamey Richard
    6- ILB Ben Moffitt
    7a- OG Shannon Tev age
    7b- OT Breno Giacomini

    Re: With the Hargrove suspension...

I'm not sure we immediately need to panic.

With Schobel, Kelsay and Denney we have 3 serviceable DEs who will do better if we have a better interior on the DL.

In free agency, a couple of DEs we can look at Antwan Odom and Travis LaBoy. Having big money in Van den Bosch and also looking to resign Albert Haynesworth, Randy Starks and needing to get help in the WRs, I think one of them would be available.

I think 11 is too high for Campbell so I would stick to adding to our interior DL, but maybe looking to go after a DE in Free agency rather than a WR

    Draft after trade down.

    R1 Pat Sims DT
    R2 Adarius Bowman WR
    R2 Dre Moore DT
    R3 John Carlson TE
    R3 Titus Brown DE
    R4 Justin King CB
    R5 John Sullivan C
    R5 Kyle Barton T/G
    R6 Matt Hahn FB
    R7 Kyle Wright QB

A big push for either Odom or LaBoy in FA after signing Teddy Lehman

DT in rounds 1 and 2?

Is Sims really going to go that high? I would have though the 2nd for him, but what do I know?

I was looking at Moore previously, but I'm losing interest and wouldn't pick him that high, but it is early. Frank Okam or Red Bryant would be fine in the 3rd, IMHO. Those 2 just strike me as Bills type players.

This front office does not have a record of trading down which makes me believe they will not do so. They tend to use extra picks to move up.

This is a fairly deep draft at several positions we need, so I'm hoping they stay put this year. Getting more picks would be great, but...

We need a good, solid route runner at WR. Someone with size and Bouman could provide that. Hardy is another one to look at. This draft is so deep at WR; the steals are out there. I have a feeling about DeCody Fagg out of Florida State. Never mind the name...every time I watched Florida on offense he was catching the ball. He was always visible. That says something.

Adarius Bowman in round 3?? No way that happens... he will be one of the first WRs taken somewhere between the 15th pick in the first and early in the second.

I don't want a DE in the first round. Let's get someone that at least has a shot being a regular contributor from Day 1.

Wake up Mahdi... He's projected late 2nd early 3rd.

                6'-8", 283 pounds, 4.85 40... Sounds like a regular contributor to me.

Most mock drafts I have seen so far have Adarius Bowman going from somewhere in the 20's in R1 to the first 10 picks in R2. I've not seen him lower

He might be moving back up. Apparently he's dropped some lbs and is looking a really solid 215 lbs as of late...

I too was high on Moore initially, but apparently he's in poor shape at 307 lbs. At a point where you should be trying to impress - he just doesn't seem to have it all together in his head...

My opinion of Moore has also soured. Bryant and Okam look like better possibilities to beef up the middle.
