He does, the little french wennie. The little puck reminds me of Flutie, sneaky untrustworthy and no loyalty. I guess that sums up how I feel!Originally Posted by chernobylwraiths

Yeah you never know how well a player will do with a change of scenery.
Campbell could end up sucking in San Jose, and maybe the "French Sissy" will be awesome here.
I truly believe systems make many players excel or on the flip side make a player look like he just has a lot of potential. I think in a wide open style system where a defenseman can pinch in Campbell did excel. He was only an average defensive defenseman. The Sabres system helped him tremendously. If he played in New Jersey he would of been labeled a player with a lot of potential.
Let's hope Ruff's system will bring the best out in Bernier.
I can't imagine someone going after Bernier.
Darcy just sounded pretty glum

Bernier leads the Sharks forwards in hits and is 4th in goals. He is 17th in goals for forwards in the NHL.
Now, they do have to sign him at the end of the year.

Nice find Doc. I like the trade on paper!
Yeah it sounds like he wanted to stay here really badly.Originally Posted by THATHURMANATOR
I knew it! It was all about the ****ing 3-year offer. WTF were they thinking? All they had to do was make it a 5 or 6 year deal and he would have taken it.
Eh its sad Mike but is Campbell really worth that much?Originally Posted by Mikey82
I bet he would have taken $5.5 million per year for 6 years to stay here. And yes, he was.Originally Posted by THATHURMANATOR
Almost every time I hear players talk, what they want is the commitment, the loyalty, the faith. It's not always about money. They want stability. They want to be wanted, and I bet the per-year money could have been less if the term was longer.Originally Posted by Mikey82
I truly doubt it would happen but who is to say that he does not resign with the Sabres...Originally Posted by Mikey82
This is all just your opinion and heresay. Not to mention we would have a 35 year old Dman making 5.5 mil.Originally Posted by Mikey82
Poor guy, Campbell sounds devastated
I really hope I see the guy before he leaves

I totally agree and that's what makes this the hardest. if anyone would have given a hometown discount to the Sabres, it was Brian Campbell. He loved it here and all that. He just wanted the commitment and the long term deal.Originally Posted by Philagape
Srew him he is now a shark! If he really wanted to be here he could have taken less money. I tired of players saying I want to stay with the Sabres then sound upset when they are traded or not resigned. Take a few hundres thousand less, swallow your damn pride and stay where you and your heart relly want to be. See ya soupy don't let the door hit ya in the ass!Originally Posted by THATHURMANATOR
