All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs. A thread will be started to report bugs and then we can pass those onto the host.
Thank you for all the patience and support with this - hopefully this will greatly reduce the crashes and other site issues we have had lately.
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

I knew it! It was all about the ****ing 3-year offer. WTF were they thinking? All they had to do was make it a 5 or 6 year deal and he would have taken it.
I truly doubt it would happen but who is to say that he does not resign with the Sabres...

Almost every time I hear players talk, what they want is the commitment, the loyalty, the faith. It's not always about money. They want stability. They want to be wanted, and I bet the per-year money could have been less if the term was longer.
I totally agree and that's what makes this the hardest. if anyone would have given a hometown discount to the Sabres, it was Brian Campbell. He loved it here and all that. He just wanted the commitment and the long term deal.
Srew him he is now a shark! If he really wanted to be here he could have taken less money. I tired of players saying I want to stay with the Sabres then sound upset when they are traded or not resigned. Take a few hundres thousand less, swallow your damn pride and stay where you and your heart relly want to be. See ya soupy don't let the door hit ya in the ass!
I bet he would have taken $5.5 million per year for 6 years to stay here. And yes, he was.
But then you have money tied for years, which impacts the ability to sign guys like Pominville and Stafford when they get to be 27+, not to mention the Spacek's, Tallinder's, Conolloy's, etcs of the team.

the cap goes up every year. And if it jumps at the rate it currently does, it won't be a problem.

Then we have another lockout or an inevitable GM strike.

I'll miss him. He was a big part of this team's high scoring, the Umberger hit was legendary, his spin move was cool, and he brought personality. While sometimes inconsistent, he was an asset and a reason we were a Cup contender for two years.
And who will do those skin surgery commercials now???

The guy is young and has upside. I'd have preferred a deal with the Flyers for Jeff Carter and Ryan Parent, but we have a few defensemen at Rochester.
Now we have to make the No1 pick count and get someone like Dave Perron who can start quickly, not waste a pick on the likes of a Kulkov, Novotny, and Zagrapan who will always be projects.
