    Turner to ATL

    TURNER TO ATLANTA IS OFFICIAL

The Falcons have announced that they have agreed to terms with free-agent running back Michael Turner.

"We are pleased to be able to add a very talented running back and a player who has produced at a high level in this League when given the opportunity,” said Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff in a press release. "We think he’s ready to take the next step and have a more prominent role in an offense and we are happy he decided that opportunity is going to be here in Atlanta."

Michael Smith of ESPN.com reports that the deal is for six years, and is worth $34.5 million. Also, Turner will get $15 million in guaranteed money.

Still glad we took lynch instead of trading for this guy last offseason

Nice pay day. He's earned his shot to start somewhere.

I know the money is good, but I guess there weren't many other suitors, because that's like signing with the Chernobyl Isotopes - that team is radioactive right now.
