    ROTHBURY FESTIVAL

The inaugural Rothbury festival is set for July 3-6 at Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury, just north of Muskegon.

For more information on the festival, go to ROTHBURYFESTIVAL . com.
Here's a by-the-numbers breakdown of what fans can expect during the weekend.

Three -- The number of stages -- Odeum, Ranch Arena, Sherwood Court -- on which main acts will play, located so simultaneous music can take place throughout the weekend.

"At this size of a festival, there's no way to see everything," event producer Jeremy Stein said. "That shouldn't be the goal, really."

Smaller, less formal stages will host other types of performances.

2,000 -- The number of acres, roughly, on Double JJ land.

80 -- The approximate number of acres devoted to the stages and other festival entertainment.

200 -- The approximate number of acres set aside for camping.

20 -- Minutes it takes to walk from one end of the festival grounds to another.

50,000 -- The capacity of the event.

74 -- The number of artists currently booked, though more could be announced. Top acts include Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Widespread Panic, 311, Snoop Dogg, Primus and Modest Mouse.

Zero -- The amount of waste organizers are hoping the event will produce -- or as close to it as possible -- through composting, recycling, energy choices and carbon-offsetting.

Tickets are $250 for the concert weekend.
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." -Thomas Jefferson

    Re: ROTHBURY FESTIVAL

Not one band in that mix that I would pay to see.

I have been to festivals in Europe and they are a blast. And 50,000 is quite small. I attended the Hieneken Jammin' Festival here in 06' where Metallica, The Darkness, Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, Lacuna Coil, and a couple other scrub bands performed in front over 60,000 people in a relatively small area.

Went to Donington a couple years ago, WOW! 70,000 drunks a cheering for the same thing, what a great time!

Monsters of Metal in 06 was also a blast.

Donington is always a blast. My brother lives just on the road out of Long Eaton up to Donington Park, so I use visiting him as my excuse to go over.
