Adarius Bowman CFL opener: 6 catches, 112 yards, 1TD

Remember this guy? A lot of scouts (including The Answer) had him graded as a 1st/2nd round pick at one point. But his off the field issues and bad 40 time sent his stock tumbling leading up to the draft. In fact he wasn't even signed as a undrafted FA:

"It looked bad, but it was perfect,'' said Bowman, who was the game's leading receiver with six catches for 112 yards. "(Edmonton's) safety was coming at my head, so he would have snapped it off if that pass was high, if I had to reach up to get it. Marcus put it in a perfect spot.''

Bowman was touted as an NFL prospect last year at Oklahoma State before being charged with marijuana possession. So he joined the Roughriders, who are also trying to turn the page on last year's championship. That's the message being trumpeted by head coach Ken Miller.

CFL = glorified junior college. (And I mean that with sincerity - I like watching CFL games). The 1991 Bills would have defeated a CFL All-Star team 105 - 2.

For all the education and practice each of us undergoes, the achievment of mastery is ultimately the outcome of a personal quest for understanding.

I'm not an official scout per se - but I've told you before that I have been working in the Pac10 for several years now.

This is part of the reason I have been all over Edwards bandwagon since he was drafted.

I'd go. I like the CFL. But let's face it...most of those guys wouldn't get a sniff of the NFL.

Some could play in the NFL

When I was younger, the CFL seemd to be loaded with great punters. Meanwhile the Bills had boderline bums like Spike Jones, Marv Bateman, Greg Cater etc.

For years, I couldn't understand why they didn't look north for a punter.

BC's Lui Passaglia ring a bell with our Canadian friends ? Outside of Moorman & MaGuire, he was far better than anyone else we ever had. Why didn't we go after him ? I could list another dozen from that time period.

                              Punters aren't players
