there are many other reasons. see the rest of the posts.

    Also:

One former Giants player, however, says Shockey was more trouble than he was worth, and those privy to the offensive inner-workings of the team are relieved he's not on the scene.
"I've been there, I've been in that locker room, I know how guys feel, I know how people in that organization feel," Tim Hasselbeck, a Giants backup quarterback in 2005 and 2006, said yesterday on the "Mike and Murray Show" on Sirius Satellite Radio.
"People there are relieved he's not around. There's this big stink about he's on injured reserve. How come he's not on the sideline supporting his team? Let me tell you something, they don't want him there. They're going to say all the right things, 'Oh yeah, we'd love to have him around' and all that stuff because he's their teammate, he's under contract next year and you can't do that. But when they're talking to people and it's not necessarily being reported they don't want him around. He's a distraction."

Does the guy make plays? Why should we care about if he has a big mouth? As long as he produces more than Royal, lets bring him in.

The most talented players are not always the best players.

Why did the Giants offense improve when he went out? Why bring in a guy who has shown no ability to stay healthy? Why bring in a guy who has been a PITA in the lockerroom?

Clearly the Bills need to improve at TE. I just don't see Shockey as the answer.

Not many. He's average with a huge mouth.

I'd trade nothing for this guy...even a 7th round pick isn't worth the baggage and crybaby antics he brings to the table.

If he knew how to shuddup and let his play speak for itself, he's a top flight player...unfortunately his mouth and atittude get in the way.

You are correct, it is ALSO because he can't be relied upon to stay on the field as I mentioned.

The "if he wants to" is the key part of that statement.

Problem with Shockey is he'd rather mouth off than play.

Wow, that tells you something not only about Shockey, but about how when current players talk, you're not necessarily hearing the truth. Players know that when they give interviews, they're acting as PR agents. They're trained in that.

I would love an upgrade at TE, but Shokey wasn't the answer.

There is just way too much info that pretty much demonstrates that Shokey was a cancer more so then a play maker

    O-ver-rated

    Clap,Clap....Clap,Clap,Clap

Now it's on to N.O. to throw Brees under the bus the second they lose 2 in a row.

Call me crazy. I predict the Saints to be in NFC championship game vs Dallas. And they have a chance to win that game.

They had a good draft and traded for fellow U grad

One & Done Dallas ? They haven't won a playoff game since 1996. They're as bad as us.

Dallas vs. N.O. sounds like a matchup based on off-season hype.

    Angry Shockey gone.

For those wishing for the bad ass tight end (), looks like he's down in the Bayou now. Price? 2nd and a 5th in 09.

Shockey may not have been the solution here in Buffalo, but it still really bothers me that we went into the offseason with bottom 4 starters at FB and TE and a bottom 6 starter at C and came out of the offseason with the same. We added a now-cut UDFA, a 4th round "reach", and Duke Preston at those respective positons. How can you explain that OBD?

    Re: Shockey gone.

Shockey would have been a beast in this offense, even more then he already was.

Shockey has been living off of one play his whole career. It was the Hall of Fame game as a rookie when he knocked that CB on his ass and stiff arm the next guy for 47 yards, or something like that.

It was all downhill from there.
