All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
By suspending Steve Smith, the Carolina Panthers told the NFL and their fans; "We do not care about winning. We do not care if we go 0-16, we have no commitment to winning, and being competitve means nothing to us, we are only here to collect our tv sharing revenue and hot dog sales."

Of course they did.
By suspending Smith they sent out the message that no matter who you are that sort of behaviour is unacceptable. They also sent out a message that they do want to win by only suspending him two games. If they hadn't suspended him the league would probably have stepped in and he would have been suspended for more games, probably 4 rather than 2. Seems to me they did the right thing both morally and from a football standpoint.
The person that showed he didn't care about winning was Smith, by punching out a team-mate and getting himself suspended.
where is draftboy.. he was all about defending smith and his "anger problems" the other day.
Im here as I always am. I didn't defend Smith or his actions, I simply pointed out that he does have medically diagnosed mental problems. He was at one time medicated for these problems. I think thats pretty pertinent to the discussion regardless of how much you don't want to acknowledge it.
Also Smith wasn't from Inglewood he was from Lynwood, California. The same place people like Jeff Tedford, Venus Williams, Pete Rozell, Kevin Costner, and Rick Adleman are from.
COMING SOON...

so those dont qualify as defending smith or his actions... by saying it was awesome that smith sucker punched his teammate.. and then saying that ken lucas talks a ton of smack, so he definately deserved it..
wow.. thats weird.. because defending smith after being a douche seems to be exactly what you did.
