    Top hopefuls keep eyes focused on prize

    It easy to see how most of America would be envious of the seven marquee college football players who were invited to New York this weekend to attend the 2003 NFL Draft.

    Southern California quarterback Carson Palmer, Michigan State wide receiver Charles Rogers, Kansas State cornerback Terence Newman, Kentucky defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson, Penn State defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy, Arizona State defensive end Terrell Suggs and Marshall quarterback Byron Leftwich are all projected to be among the top-10 players selected, and seemingly have the world by the tail.

    They all are in their early 20s, in peak physical condition and less than 24 hours away from being financially secure for the rest of their lives.
