... and Ellison has 4 total tackles.
4 of the Bills top 5 leading tacklers are DBs.
Does this mean anything???
Player Tot Solo Assist Sck Fumb Terrence McGee 13 11 2 0 0 Donte Whitner 12 11 1 0 0 Ashton Youboty 11 10 1 1 0 Paul Posluszny 12 8 4 0 0 Ko Simpson 9 7 2 0 0

What does this mean? (I'm really asking).
I don't know.
lol
Hell, our 3rd leading tackler is our nickel back.
I just think it's kinda strange.
It means that Ellison sucks and McGee is getting tackles he shouldn't be getting. But to McGee's credit, he has been picked on by both QBs so far.
If Crowell was in the lineup, I bet he would have more than 4 tackles and McGee would have less than 13.
The other thing it can mean is that the CBs are playing too soft and are having to make tackles instead of breaking up pass plays.

good question.
the optimist in me says that our DTs are busting up the inside runs and forcing run plays outside where the CBs are coming up and making plays...
don't know if thats true or not

Conventional wisdom traditionally maintains that d-backs shouldn't be your leading tacklers, but if the front seven is consistently stuffing the run and putting opponents into passing situations then it's a good thing.

We're 5th in the NFL in defense right now, so take it for what it is..
It means LB is our #1 need going into next offseason.Originally Posted by dasaybz

Terrell Suggs- will cost a fortune, I think hes worth it, but the Bills probably wont
Karlos Dansby- an up and comer, young, and probably wont break the bank, a likely guy fort he Bills to target
Out of the draft,
1) Aaron Curry- Wake Forrest- the all around best OLB I have watched so far IMO
2) Brian Cushing- USC- I think hes overrated as does DB. But, the drop off after Curry is significant.
3) Clint Sintim- Virginia- has done much this year, but has been very successfull in the past
4) Tyrone McKenzie- USF- may end up being #2 due to production. Hes got a lanky build but can play
No juniors in that, and theres a chance of moving a top ILB prospect out to SLB, or moving Poz out. The ILB class is stronger.
Sorry bro, but you lost me when you mentioned the word "offseason".Originally Posted by EdwardsEra

interesting
I've noticed our DB's are playing well off the WR's through the first two games. We must be willing to give up the short stuff and are protecting against the long ball. Could be part of the reason.
Its only two games but it could mean a few things. One, teams are playing catch up and throwing the ball more against Buffalo two, opponents are are not able to establish the run and are throwing more three, the linebacking corp are not shredding their blockers or missing tackles thus causing the secondary to come up and stop the run or four, a combination of the first three. I think it is number four.
