One more slice of fried gold from Icethetics: Our old pals from Sabres Not Slugs are all over a story in which Larry Quinn said that the Buffalo Sabres will use their current third jerseys are their primary uniforms in 2010-11, the 40th anniversary season for the franchise -- and relegating the BuffaSlug to third-jersey status.

20010-11 Traditional logo is #1 jersey
2011-2012 Slug is #1 again

Undoubtedly, we will gain and lose players over that span. It's a great way to sell jerseys. Think about this: tons of people buy a star player's jersey in 09 cuz he's a star player. Tons more (or maybe the same people) buy the same jersey in '10 because they like the 3rd jersey better. But the guy's a FA and bolts or gets traded before the '11 season. Time for another new jersey!

I really think the Sabres just using the hype :oldskool: for the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium. The Aud is going to be ripped down very soon to make way for a Bass Pro store and they want people to remember the Aud years and the last thing we saw before the Aud closed was the original logo at center ice. I've said it once and I'll say it again the :oldskool: belongs with the Aud and 1970's not in the Arena!

by the way the "Farewell Old Friend" rememberance is this weekend 15-16 at the Buffalo Convention Center, if you can make it to the event. The French Connection will be there along with other old Sabres players signing autographs, sports memorbelia and the blue seats will be auctioned off

Like I've said, a team changing its third jersey to a primary jersey has happened several times.
Ottawa, Philly, Atlanta , Minnesota, Florida and Columbus have done it.

Why would we have "I Told You So's" coming??? Did we ever say we preferred it (other than Losman Wins and I can't explain him if I tried) or that it would never go away?

you know, it seems to me that a real fan would support the team and their logo instead of jumping off the bandwagon just because you think the old logo is better. Living in the past is pretty bad. You're just like those Dolphins fans who never STFU about 17-0 because their team hasn't done **** since losing the Super Bowl in '84.
