When building walls in your basement, be sure to use tools such as levels and chalk lines to lay out walls. Further, do not use your hand to hold up a 12-foot wall section, especially if a) there is only 1/2" between the top of the wall and the steel support beam; and b) if you want to avoid having the entire section collapse and wedge your finger in between the beam and the board, resulting in a nasty gash at the tip of your finger (with visible bone), excessive blood loss, a trip to the ER, 7 stitches in said finger, and a vicodin high that lasts two days.
