Experts: 'Buddy' Parents No Friends to Kids
"The usual response to incidents like the Illinois hazing melee -- at least among most tongue-clicking adults -- generally runs along the lines of 'Where were the parents?'
But what happens if, as may have been the case here, the parents were out buying the booze for the underage drinking bash?..."
In Canada, non-issue. The drinking age is 19 in Ontario, 18 in Quebec, and in Quebec it's only a suggestion.
In the article, they mention parents in NC who buy their "underage teens" beer. My take on that is that it's a logical response to an unjust law.
I can only assume 18-21 year olds aren't as mature in the US as they are here, otherwise, why patronize them with a silly, silly thing like a 21 yr old drinking age.
