Falcons trade WR Laurent Robinson to Rams

    http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sp...ge_tab_newstab

    Robinson, ATL 5th, ATL 6th

    for

    STL 5th, STL 6th

I gotta admit I like this deal for the Rams, Robinson has big time potential, he was injury hampered all year last year.

Even so, I agree with you - I think the Rams got the better end of the deal. But we'll see.

It doesn't seem like much value for a guy talented enough to be drafted in the 3rd round a couple years ago, who has some NFL production already.

By the trade chart, the total value is about a mid-6th round pick. Robinson was a 3rd-rounder a couple years ago and showed some potential as a rookie. He didn't do much last year, but if he is healthy it seems like his potential is greater than most 6th-rounders. Robinson has a ton of speed, and they can put him opposite Donnie Avery to open things up underneath for Stephen Jackson.

I think this is a great trade for the Rams, and a curious one for Atlanta. They are basically giving up on Robinson early, IMO. Maybe they question his toughness after getting hurt last year, but he flashed speed and play-making ability as a rookie. He was timed in the 4.3's coming out of college, and that kind of speed usually doesn't last until the 6th round.

I agree with that though they do have a solid 4 WR set already in White, Jenkins, Finneran, and Douglas so where Robinson fits in is of question. But why not wait till draft day and maximize his value then when a team misses on a WR? Just a curious move imo. They must have a couple of guys targeted there.

    Horrible deal for ATL.
