    Dan LeFevour, QB, Central Michigan

    From WalterFootball.com:
    Dan LeFevour*, Central Michigan
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 229.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.70.
    Projected Round (2010): 4.

2/4/09: Dan LeFevour threw for 2,784 yards, 21 touchdowns and just six picks as a junior. He also rushed for 592yards. His YPA (7.4) and completion percentage (66.8) were both pretty solid.

5/1/08: Looking to be the next talented NFL quarterback from the MAC, Dan LeFevour threw for 3,652 yards, 27 touchdowns and only 13 picks in 2007. He completed 65.4 percent of his passes, and rushed for 1,122 yards and 19 scores.

    Comments:

09/12/09- vs. Michigan State- Can really hurt you with his feet. Gets happy feet at times, not as relaxed in the pocket as you would like. Hes a bit thin which may make some worry about his toughness. Is the energetic, athletic type QB... reminds me of Losman or Boller. What Id like to see is for him to sit in the pocket and pick a defense apart through his checkoffs and finding the open guy. Tebow comparisons are unfair because hes got better mechanics and more zip on the ball. Hes inaccurate quite a bit. Nice ball speed and touch on the TD throw in the 4th quarter, split double coverage for the TD. You want to see him make this type of throw consistently, not once in a while. Nice touch on his late 4th TD throw; put the ball where only the WR could get it, over the shoulder. Really stepped up and started to drill it around the field in the 4th quarter with the game on the line. Acted like a field general, putting the ball all over the field to give the team a chance to win... which they did.

10/17/09- vs. West Mich- Can make the throws. Has a nice fast ball at times. Seems to go to the first guy most of the time... you would like to see him go through his reads more. Gets happy feet and just wings it out there... not the best pocket presence. Will take off and run when the pocket collapses... may rely to much on his ability to run. Again reminds me of Losman or Boller. People will love his athleticism but I think he needs to show more ability to sit in the pocket and pick a defense apart through progressions, and reads.

10/24/09- vs. Bowl Green- Runs a spread offense. It appears that he almost always throws to his primary target. He may prove to be inexperienced or unable to run a system which requires reads and progressions.

    Summary:
Dan LeFevour is a very athletic QB who has lots of upside for the team that drafts him. Dan has good arm strength, and above average mobility in the pocket. He has been very productive in college and is a four year starter. LeFevour's accuracy is good, but he will make errant throws at times. His decision making seems good but he usually throws to the primary target. He does a nice job of not forcing throws. Dan will have a tendency to get happy feet and pull it down and run a bit too often. This may be a concern for a team if he doesn't develop the ability to read pro defenses, gets nervous, and resorts to running with the ball too much. If NFL teams decide he can develop a good ability to read defenses and that he can gain better poise in the pocket, he has fantastic upside.
