Stevens may forfeit part of signing bonus

KIRKLAND — Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens has been charged with drunken driving, and could face a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $5,000 fine.

If convicted of driving under the influence, Stevens would also forfeit an unspecified portion of his $2.3 million signing bonus, which he received as part of his five-year, $6.2 million contract signed after he was drafted in 2002. Russell Joe, the deputy prosecuting attorney for the city of Medina, filed a criminal complaint and the two citations Stevens was given early on the morning of April 3 in Medina. Joe filed the documents at Kirkland Municipal Court yesterday morning to start the case against Stevens. Stevens will be arraigned on the drunken-driving charge next month.
