Lynch and Parrish watching

Marshawn Lynch and Roscoe Parrish are not participating in practice for day 2 of minicamp.
Lynch is dealing with an undisclosed ailment, while Parrish tweaked his right calf early in practice Tuesday.

He might have bruised or twisted something. At this point in the year missing a day or two, or the whole mini-camp is not a big deal. Buffalo, like a lot of teams tends to play it very safe rather than risk aggravating the injury by having him practice. It's like Leodis McKelvin, sitting out because his finger hurts.

Maybin to work out with Ray Lewis

As we’ve reported in the past Aaron Maybin befriended Lavar Arrington and Ray Lewis as a young Baltimore area grade school football player. Between now and training camp Maybin will be training with Lewis in Florida.
“I’ll be going down there within the next couple of weeks and a get a full weekend of training down there with him and then I’ll be back in Baltimore training with my trainer,” said Maybin.
Buffalo’s top pick admits you have to have the right mindset before stepping into the gym with the Baltimore linebacker.
“Your mind has to be right to work out with Ray. He definitely has a different mentality than a lot of other folks,” Maybin said. ”But he’s definitely going to make you a better player because being able to work out with one of the best to ever play the game definitely never hurt anybody. So I’m real excited.”
Suffice to say Maybin won’t be looking for any down time between now and training camp if he’s willing to fly down to Miami just to train with Lewis.

Wednesday practice

Bills quarterback Trent Edwards looked pretty sharp during the Bills' second "minicamp" practice Wednesday. It's called a minicamp because it's mandatory but it looked exactly like the dozen voluntary "organized team activity" workouts the team ran the past four weeks. Edwards hit 5 of 6 passes in good rhythm to open the 11-on-11 session on the grass field behind the Bills Fieldhouse. The fourth play was a perfectly thrown deep out into a tight window along the right sideline to Terrell Owens. Owens had to make a leap to get it just over the outstretched arm of cornerback Drayton Florence. Edwards hit Owens on two other very precise out routes during the 7-on-7 session. Lee Evans caught a sharp quick slant from Edwards in the second 11-on-11 portion.
The veteran guards - Kirk Chambers and Seth McKinney - were working with the first-team unit for most of the day. The rookie guards - Erik Wood and Andy Levitre - wroked with the first unit for eight plays during one 11-on-11 session. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick worked with the second-teamers during both 11-on-11 sessions. Aaron Maybin had a sore lege and was limited. So Chirs Ellis played right end and Copeland Bryan left end on the second-team defensive line. Linebacker Keith Ellison got some praise for being the perfect spot in pass coverage. Safety Ko Simpson made an interception along the left sideline on a pass from Gibran Hamdan for Stevie Johnson in 7-on-7 work. Then rookie Ellis Lankster picked off a sideline pass from Fitzpatrick to Justin Jenkins down the sideline. Defensive tackle Spencer Johnson picked off a pass that slipped out of Fitzpatrick's hand. Rookie tight end Shawn Nelson adjusts to the ball well and shows good hands, even when the ball is slightly off target.

Day two of minicamp for the Bills saw Leodis McKelvin jump back into the fray as the cornerback was full go for practice for the first time in more than a week. McKelvin was eased back in however, as he took reps mainly with the second defensive unit.
And Buffalo’s quarterbacks were challenging him early and often, with deep passes downfield. On three consecutive plays Trent Edwards and Gibran Hamdan went deep on his side of the field with the only completion going to Justin Jenkins. It got to the point where one of Buffalo’s offensive players shouted out, ‘They’re coming for you Leodis! They’re coming for you.’
Leodis shouted the following back to the offensive players.
“My legs are fine. Any day!”
McKelvin had been out with an infected finger on his right hand.
McIntyre cleared in exposure case
Some good off the field news for the Bills as day two of minicamp as fullback Corey McIntyre had the misdemeanor exposure charges against him dropped in a case in Florida. McIntyre gave a brief statement after practice.
"I just want to say that I'm happy my name has been cleared today," said McIntyre. "I've maintained my innocence all through this process and I'm glad it's out of the way. I'm sorry for the embarrassment to my family and to the Bills and now my focus is on training camp."
It appears to be a case of mistaken identity as Port St. Lucie police have charged another suspect in the case.
Levitre and Wood will challenge for starting roles
Throughout the OTA sessions and minicamp rookie offensive linemen Andy Levitre and Eric Wood have been rotated in and out with the starting offensive line at left and right guard respectively. They’ll be pushing veterans Kirk Chambers and Seth McKinney for the starting roles come training camp.
To this point Bills offensive line coach Sean Kugler is satisfied with the progress of the two rookies.
“Both of them are able to adapt to new positions and they have,” said Kugler. “Both are competing for starting positions. Both are doing an excellent job and they’re good in the classroom and workers on the field. Their production has shown up in the team work. Everything we’ve asked of them they’ve done so far and I expect that to continue.”
Kugler said he has no reservations about potentially starting two rookies on the offensive line come this fall saying if they earn it they’ll play.
Highlights
Trent Edwards had a great looking touch pass to the right sideline as he dropped the ball over the outstretched arm of Terrence McGee right into the arms of Terrell Owens before he reached the sideline.
Fred Jackson had a rushing touchdown on a short carry.
Justin Jenkins had a good reception along the near sideline in 7-on-7 work.
Lee Evans deftly toed the sideline on a pass from Edwards in 11-on-11.
Shawn Nelson had three catches late in practice including a solid hands catch on a pass that was low and outside his body frame.
Defensively, Ellis Lankster had a pass breakup on Felton Huggins on a pass over the middle. He also had an interception on an underthrown ball intended for Jenkins.
Ko Simpson covered a lot of ground as he swooped in from his free safety spot to pick off a pass intended for Stevie Johnson on the near sideline.
Spencer Johnson had an interception as the ball slipped out of Ryan Fitzpatrick’s hands on his follow through and fluttered up in the air.
Kyle Ward had a pass breakup on a pass intended for Felton Huggins.

HONESTLY! I bet you anything Lynch has diarrhea. What else would stop someone from running around, but not standing around. And would be the kind of thing a team didn't want to talk about.

Something personal of that nature. Maybe he had a hemorroid removed. Why do they have to disclose EVERY G'DANG THING?!? He's there, and that shows me enough. I know his skills already.

I like what im hearing about Nelson already. Sounds like hes making athletic catches when the passes arent perfect. Good hands and athleticism arent things that can be really coached. Sounds like he has the tools to be a damn good player. Royal didnt make one good catch in his whole time here and even made the easy ones look damn hard.

Nelson def sounds like a player this guy was my favorite TE in the draft cause of his potential as a blocker. That was the MO on Nelson in college, he has a large radius to catch balls cause he can catch that bad ones. Now I don't expect huge numbers from him this year but I absolutely think he will be a weapon. Fine is steady and will contribute nicely but Nelson is a playmaker, this will be a good one to punch.
