Everson Griffen, DE, University of Southern California

    From WalterFootball.com:
    Everson Griffen*, USC
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 265.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.58.
    Projected Round (2010): 1-2.

2/12/09: Everson Griffen didn't really meet expectations as a sophomore, notching six TFL and 4.5 sacks. However, his athleticism will get him some looks in the first round.

7/30/08: A beast of a defensive end, Everson Griffen is extremely quick for his imposing size. If he runs a 4.5, he could go in the top five. As a measuring stick, Vernon Gholston, chosen sixth overall in 2008, ran a 4.65 at about the same size. As a true freshman, Everson Griffen had 5.5 sacks despite starting only two games.

    Comments:

10/16/09- Great speed for a big DE. His build would have you think hes a bull rusher but he has tremendous speed for his build. If he can put together his size, strength, and speed to be what he athletically good be, he could be one of the best DE's in many years. Needs to show strength to push the pile, and moves to get past the blocker. Nice spin move for a sack. Has the most upside of any DE Ive seen. Morgan is more accomplished, but doesn't have Griffens speed. Non-stop motor, if you dont double him every play, he will get pressure.

12/26/09- vs. BC, Emerald Bowl- Can have a tough time getting off blockers.
