    D and S Sports 2009 NFL Preview

We're currently in the middle of our 2009 NFL Preview over at D and S Sports, covering 2 divisions per week. So far we've tackled the following:

    NFC West

    AFC West

    NFC North

    AFC North

    NFC South

    AFC South

    NFC East

    AFC East

Check them out and let us know what you think, and be sure to keep checking back as we work our way through the rest of the divisions. I'll try to stop back in this thread and update the links each time a new ones goes up.

    AFC South - 8/27
    NFC East - 8/31
    AFC East - 9/3

Not much faith in Detroit, eh? I don't know about 2-14, I think they could get at least 4 wins, maybe as many as 6. They got Morris to help spell Smith this year, and Brown to be the 3rd down back. I agree that thrusting Stafford into the starting job too early may hurt him, but he looked really good on Saturday v. Falcons. Accurate, read defenses well, and delivered a strong ball. I also like there WR corp with Calvin, B. Johnson, Colbert, and Derrick Williams. Colbert I think could really blossom this year and Williams will be a dangerous ST and slot WR, imo. The entire team though hinges on the two lines, if Cherilus and Jansen can hold down the ends, and Peterman can develop in the OG we all thought he could be 5 years ago, then they could have a much better year, but that's a lot of ifs.

On Defense they are a mess, with only Avril worth a starting shot on the line and while I like Hill and Fluellen, Hill is really raw, and Fluellen has to show me something. I really liked adding Larry Foote to this squad and Julian Peterson, I think it gives them some big time vet leadership. In the defensive backfield...I like...well...ummm...I liked them picking Delmas...yea...

I only got through the NFC North, Ill read the others over lunch. A very good writeup though, kudos to you both.
    COMING SOON...

I do too actually, I think they'll be around .500 probably. I see Hasselbeck coming back close to prior form this year.

As far as the Lions... I was very tempted to put them at 4-12 actually, but in the end, I couldn't find enough to get me excited about them and make the move. Stafford did look good in that game, and I think he could be pretty solid given time, but if they throw him in there from the start, he's going to get David Carr syndrome.
