Recap- The underdog Bills capitalize on four turnovers in a big upset win over the New England Patriots. The Patriots jump to an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Leodis McKelvin returns a kickoff 63 yards after the Patriot's second touchdown. Buffalo quarterback, Trent Edwards, fires a 34 yard touchdown pass to Terrell Owens to put the game at 14-7. The Bills would get their first interception of the night on a tipped pass to Terrence McGee with 7:35 left in the second quarter on the Bills' 25 yard line. Edwards would lead the Bills down the field and runningback Fred Jackson would punch it in from 4 yards out.
In the second half the Bills would receive and Ryan Lindell would kick a 45 yard field goal to give the Bills a 17 to 14 lead. Tom Brady would throw his second interception of the game on a poorly thrown ball to his tight end that would be scooped up by Bills linebacker Paul Posluszny. The Bills would go three and out. Aaron Schobel however would give the Bills the ball back late in the third when he sacks Brady and forces a fumble. Marcus Stroud would recover the loose ball. The play would be challenged, but upheld.
Edwards would throw a 53 yard deep touchdown pass to wide receiver Lee Evans and give the Bills a 24-14 lead.
The Patriots would battle back however and score another touchdown on a pass from Tom Brady to Randy Moss in the back of the endzone to put the game at 24-21 with 10:08 left in the game.
The Patriots would get the ball back with 5:56 left in the game, but Brady would throw his third interception of the game and Buffalo would go on to win it 24-21 in a week one shocker on monday night football.
